BBC Antiques Roadshow

Reappraising a National Treasure

Antiques Roadshow, a beloved BBC program since 1979, draws around 5 million viewers per episode, making it one of the network’s most popular and longest-running shows. We were tasked with evolving the identity to appeal to a more diverse audience while honouring its rich heritage. Inspired by the original title sequence, where Arthur Negus, the show’s first presenter, inspects a vase for its maker’s mark, the Antiques Roadshow Maker’s Mark logo was born. Developed in collaboration with renowned typographer Alec Tear, the new identity pays tribute to the craftspeople behind the historic treasures featured on the show.
