We’re a ‘Best Place’ to Work!

By Ryan Wills, Founder & CEO

We’ve been recognised by The Sunday Times as one of the ‘Best Places to Work’ in 2024.

This represents a significant achievement for us and a testament to our team’s dedication to fostering a standout studio culture and creating a psychologically safe environment filled with opportunities for everyone to create unforgettable career experiences. Personally, I’m thrilled about this. It’s one thing to strive to do great work; it’s entirely another to do so without breaking people in the process. A huge part of keeping us honest in that respect is down to our enduring company values. They’ve been the foundation of our culture from the start, and today, every Taxi Studio team member self-polices them.

Here’s a snippet of some of the things that impressed the judges:

In-house Coach

One of our values is ‘Form Real Relationships,’ and our in-house coach helps us do exactly that. From promoting a healthier culture to sustaining our psychologically safe working environment, impartial coaching provides our team with a valuable outlet to work through day-to-day challenges and have open career conversations. You can read more about that here.

Mentor Programme

Our mentor programme is an informal process. Taxi Studio mentors are colleagues—no one is ‘the boss’ in that forum, and they don’t have to be more ‘senior’. The programme is designed to challenge limiting beliefs, provide guidance and encouragement, but ultimately to leave the mentee feeling like they can run through brick walls after each session.

Wellbeing Budgets

We offer a personal budget to be spent on anything that improves our team’s physical and mental well-being. It can be used for whatever works for the individual, whether that’s surfing lessons, gym equipment, or a mini break to rest and recuperate—the choice is 100% theirs. No judgment.

MH Days

We recognise that everyone’s mental health is different, and it’s futile to implement a one-size-fits-all policy. However, just like taking a physical sick day, we accommodate and encourage our people to take MH (mental health) days when they feel they need to.

Being in business is tough, and while we don’t always get it right, it’s fantastic to have our team’s efforts recognised by The Sunday Times. But there’s still more we can do… and we’ll aim to do better.
